i'm so there.

so, the taste of summer, so sweet at first, is kind of wearing off for me. I'm not aching to go back to 6:00 wake up calls and math first thing in the morning, but I'm ready to be DOING something. Damn, the only difference I'm making is on freaking freerice. And this weekend, I went to see USC. I'm ready to be there! Not here, wasting my time. So I guess I'll suffer through the two back to back days of pool parties, and going to the beach next tuesday and yeah. I'm full of it. And I'm loving it. But I'm going to be back at it soon, and I'm. So. There.

three days of freedom.

I am so tired of people saying one thing, and meaning another. I mean, if you are going to tell someone or even a group of people to do something, you better follow up on your end. I've had this problems with friends frequently, but I never thought it would come into play on a larger scale.

And then our school had Spirit Week for the second time, the week where everyone is free of dress code.

Except this time, people are getting dress coded.

Ummmm...

Is it just me, or is Spirit Week supposed to be no dress code?

So I asked. And they said that the clothes worn by the people who were dress coded weren't appropriate. Damn right they aren't appropriate! That's what this week is all about- it's the three days, yes, only THREE DAYS, where we get to be as skanky and free as we want! If I'm going to wear a collared shirt for every other school day, I'm going to use my right to three days of freedom. And now people are getting in trouble for using that right?
And it wasn't just a few people. I have seen four people walk by me so far, all having to change because someone couldn't get their facts straight.

And I realize this isn't a big deal. But it just bothers me because it seems like they're taking away our rights.

And little things like this can turn into big things.

Much, much bigger things.

So please. Say what you mean, and mean what you say, High Tech High.

save a life

Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, and their main problem, among many, is starvation. Every hour, a child dies of hunger. And the only thing they have to eat is mud. Haitians' main source of food are mudcakes, which is basically mud mixed with a little butterand water. What I am asking everyone to do is donate money or food, or even just look into it yourselves. Here at HTHNC, I know people will be selling food, and asking for charity, so please just give ANYTHING you can give. Also, if you live in the San Marcos area, my group will be selling smoothies this week at 24 Hour Fitness, near our school. If you don't live near us, that doesn't mean you can't be a part of this and pitch in! Please do whatever you can, no matter how small or big it is. Comment me, and keep me updated! Remember, Haiti isn't the only country in need. If you help anyone, anywhere, I would love to hear about it.
